CEO at Develco Products, Karsten Ries, will speak at high-level EU meeting on interoperability to create the Internet of Energy

Mr. Ries will among other things give his view on the interoperability needed to develop smart IoT solutions of tomorrow. Develco Products’ deep expertise in integrated IoT solutions and knowledge of combining energy management with smart home and healthcare services constitutes the basis. Other participating companies include i.a. Schneider Electric, Bosch Smart Homes, Somfy, Gorenje, and Landys-Gyr.

Energy transition enabled by IoT

The high-level meeting is hosted be The European Commission and takes place on 11th of May 2017 in Brussels. The aim is to discuss how Internet of Things solutions can contribute to the energy transition and how interoperability of communication and data exchange can ensure that Europe benefits from the new opportunities that IoT creates in the energy sector.

Energy information and communications technology become increasingly present in residential households and the integration of renewable energy sources and promotion of energy efficiency should benefit from this development,” states Karsten Ries, CEO of Develco Products.

Connected devices across brands and platforms

Information obtained from intelligent energy solutions can be used to promote new energy services and business models. Though, it is essential for the end-user to have access to intelligent and seamlessly connected devices that are easy to install, use, and operate. “If we are to achieve this, it is necessary to develop cost-effective solutions that are interoperable, thus sharing data across home devices, and wireless networks, and software platforms”, concludes Karsten Ries.
