New IoT solution solving challenges of population ageing.
With a continuing rise in the number of elderly people across the world, demands on care services will increase significantly in the future. To meet this challenge, Philips has selected Develco Products’ Squid.link Gateway for an innovative home care monitoring solution.
Supplied with the Squid.link Gateway, Philips CareSensus, a connected sensors platform, provides seniors with the opportunity to age more safely in their own homes.
Time to market reduced
With the flexible and configurable Squid.link Gateway in the ground-breaking solution, time to market is reduced.
“With Develco Products’ Squid.link Gateway, we have found an off-the-shelf gateway that has the perfect fit technical wise as well as from a business point of view. Flexibility in all areas was an important factor and is key for a start-up,” states Supply Chain Manager ECS business at Philips.
Collection and processing of real-time data
The CareSensus platform has been launched in partnership with a large home care provider and consists of wireless sensors placed strategically in the homes of seniors to provide 24/7 monitoring of their activities.
The Squid.link Gateway enables the platform to collect real-time data from the sensors and process it to identify unusual patterns of the seniors. The timely and reliable data from the gateway is delivered to a remote care team, providing them with early indicators of something being wrong and enabling them to intervene before serious events occur.
By supporting Z-wave as one of the numerous configuration options, the Squid.link Gateway is compatible with a variety of wireless sensors, making it possible to realize the monitoring solution of the Philips CareSensus platform.
