Celebrating the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day
Today we celebrate the World Telecommunication & Information Society Day (WTISD), which marks the foundation of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) as a specialized agency within the United Nations in 1969. This world day aims to spread awareness about the social changes caused by the evolution of the Internet and new communication technologies.
This year, the theme of the WTISD is “Accelerating Digital Transformation in challenging times”, the need for which is becoming more and more prominent. The previous year has highlighted the many benefits of telecommunication, for example in remote patient care, as well as the critical role that solution providers play in improving the resilience of societies during challenging times.

As a response to the UN’s call for further advancing the digital transformation through cooperation, innovation, and capacity development, Develco Products has partnered with academic, public, and corporate organizations in joined research projects, such as HESTIA and CELSIUS. The members of these projects share technology-driven strategies and know-how with the goal of fully exploring the potential of IoT to bring about sustainable change in our society.
