Earth Hour: Turn the lights off - preserve the planet
March 29, 2019
Join us for Earth Hour this Saturday, March 30th, as people, companies, and cities once again turn off the lights for one hour to raise awareness of climate change.
What is Earth Hour?
Earth Hour is organized by WWF, and it is the world’s largest environmental act putting climate change in the spotlight. Millions of people and thousands of companies and cities across the world will turn off the lights to raise awareness of the severity of climate change and emphasize that we need to take action - now. By turning the lights off for an hour, they will voice their concern for the environment and climate change, signaling to the world’s decision-makers that people expect them to listen and act.
Reducing energy consumption
As the consequences of climate change are increasingly starting to show before our eyes, it is important to consider every possible way we can decrease emissions of CO2. As buildings consume more 40% of primary energy in most countries, they emit immense amounts of CO2. It is therefore important to consider ways in which we can decrease energy consumptions, both in private homes and commercial buildings.
Internet of Things can offer solutions to the global climate challenge, for instance through technology that helps users optimize energy consumption. Green solutions and intelligent energy management are among the most efficient ways to reduce energy consumption and lower CO2 emissions. At Develco Products, we do our best to support the green transition, and we believe that smart energy solutions will greatly benefit the future of the planet as well as the users themselves. We develop intelligent energy management platforms and multiple wireless products that decrease energy consumption. And of course, we support Earth Hour 2019.
Do you want to take part in Earth Hour 2019?
To show your support for the green transition and preservation of the planet, turn off your lights between 8:30-9:30 PM your time on March 30th, 2019.
