Earth Hour worldwide

The world is facing severe climate challenges – and all countries are affected. This weekend more than 7000 cities and towns worldwide will turn of the light to “shine the light” on global climate change and to take part in Earth Hour.

At Develco Products, we believe that green solutions are becoming more and more important. Intelligent energy management, for instance, enables the user to control and reduce the energy consumption, which benefits both the user and the climate. This is why, we develop products within the field of energy consumption and why we support Earth Hour.

Earth hour 2017

Earth Hour takes place on Saturday 25 March 2017, 20.30 – 21.30, local time. It is the world’s largest climate-event and is a symbolic act, where everybody is able to speak up and put the spotlight on changing climate change. Earth Hour is organized by WWF and they encourage everybody to use #ChangeClimateChange on social media on 25 March, to shine a light on climate change. WWF emphasizes that our actions today will define our tomorrow, and that we still have the chance to act and stop climate change.  

Last year more than 178 countries participated in Earth Hour, and 400 iconic buildings, like Empire State building, The Opera House in Sidney, and Tokyo Tower turned off the lights during Earth Hour. This year, Earth Hour celebrates its 10th anniversary – looking back at the past 10 years, Earth Hour has changed laws and had a positive effect on the climate. This year, more cities, buildings and people will take part in Earth Hour to generate even more awareness about climate change.
